This is in memory of my Dad – Robert Murray Franklin. You know, he was a really cool guy (and a very smart one too – wish I managed to inherit some of his brains!). There were lots of things that he used to do for me, such as taking me out to breakfast on Saturday mornings when I was really little, building my swing set, teaching me how to ride a bicycle and eventually how to drive a car. He funded our holidays (all those trips to England!), paid for my education, provided me with pocket money, clothes, etc. He also made the best “Mommy Egg”, “Daddy Egg” and “Funny Egg” (don’t ask!). Dad used to also sing to me – a particular one I remember is “You Are My Sunshine” and a really weird song that I think he made up, “Hey Babba-Doo Babba-Doo, Babba-Doo-Doo”. It is no doubt that I will sing the same songs to my kids. Anyway, this is for you, Dad. I know you are around – say “hi” to Tibbs for me. Lots of Love, Shayna, your “sunshine”. p.s.
